On July 1, 2023, in Lviv, at the Mirror Hall of the Lviv National Opera, as part of the seventh Open International Music Marathon in memory of Wassyl Slipak W LIVE, a solo concert of Anastasiya Lozova’s music took place.
The Wassyl Slipak Memorial Marathon has been organized annually since 2016 by the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic.
At the concert, renowned Lviv musicians Myroslav Dragan (piano), Yevhen Kruk (violin), Mykhailo Solonchenko (violin), and Markiyan Maksymiv (oboe) performed solo and chamber-instrumental works by Anastasiya Lozova. Naturally, Anastasiya also performed her own compositions and piano improvisations.
The three-part dramaturgy of the concert added even greater conceptual coherence and vibrancy to the presentation of Anastasiya Lozova’s creative persona. In the first part, titled “Kinship”, Anastasiya performed her own piano improvisations. The second part, “Light and Shadow”, consisted of three compositions by Anastasiya Lozova: “Pastoral” for solo violin, “Two Fates” for two violins and piano, and Twilight for oboe and piano (in memory of Ihor Martyniuk). In the third part of the concert, “The Purity of Eternal and White Snows”, Anastasiya performed two compositions from her solo CD “Reflections”: “Chant de Tristesse” and “Principium” on piano.
Anastasiya Lozova’s poetry, recited between the musical pieces by the famous Lviv opera singer Oleh Lykhach, was a meaningful and profound addition to the structured dramaturgy of the concert.
