The 29th International Festival of Contemporary Art “Two Days and Two Nights of New Music” took place in Odesa on August 24 and 25, 2024. On the first day of the festival, as part of the program CONCERT – GRAND – STAGE 2, prepared by the Odesa Contemporary Music Ensemble “Explosion of Emotions”, Anastasiya Lozova’s “Trio” for flute, violin, and cello was performed. The performers were ensemble musicians Nazar Kravchenko (flute), Kateryna Korshomna (violin), and Mykhailo Bezchastnov (cello).

To be heard is one of the basic human needs and the entire meaning for a musical work, as music is born in the triangle: composer – performer – listener.

On May 10, 2024, a concert titled “Composers. In Ukrainian: Contemporary Musical Lyrics” took place at the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic. Two of Anastasiya Lozova’s works were performed by the composer and pianist herself, the Academic Chamber Orchestra “Virtuosos of Lviv,” and conductor and oboist Yuriy Litun. The soft sound of the piano, set against the airy backdrop of the strings, carried a delicate, barely perceptible beam of light through the years – years that have enriched world music with hundreds of new melodies. At the same time, the ability to unite the present with the past, to connect us with our own emotions, is the profound essence of lyricism in music, which has emerged under the most diverse conditions and events but always at the right time.

Anastasiya Lozova’s “Concertino” for piano and strings and “Presque une Valse…” for piano and chamber orchestra were the final pieces of the concert program. To conclude the event, another of Anastasiya’s works, “Twilight” for oboe and piano, was performed. This piece was written in memory of Ihor Martyniuk back in 2000. The oboe solo was performed by Yuriy Litun.

As part of the 30th anniversary International Festival of Contemporary Music “Contrasts”, on September 28, 2024, at the Myroslav Skoryk Lviv National Philharmonic, Anastasiya Lozova’s “Trio” for flute, violin, and cello was performed by the Odesa new music ensemble “Senza Sforzando”. The performers were ensemble musicians Nazar Kravchenko (flute), Serhii Balinskyi (violin), and Mykhailo Bezchastnov (cello).

Regarding the concert program’s concept, Oleksandr Perepelytsia, pianist, conductor, and artistic director of the ensemble, aptly expressed: “The project title comes from the long-term collaboration between two international festivals, both founded in the same year, 1995, in the young independent Ukraine: ‘Two Days and Two Nights of New Music’ and ‘Contrasts’. The aim is to present works by composers of different generations and nations in a universe directed toward the unification of art.”
